Ballot count will be conducted at the Local on March 7th.
At the 2024 Convention in Las Vegas, several important and exciting things happened. NP Paul Hogrogian was re-elected as National President. NST Kevin Tabarus was also re-elected as National Secretary Treasurer. NP Hogrogian stated, "I'm glad I was re-elected so I can fix this pay gap issue between crafts!!" Well truthfully, it was quite more colorful than that, but nonetheless, it seems that is one of the biggest things he is focused on for the next round of contract negotiations.
Also, we are very proud to announce the next Convention will be in Detroit MI. There has never been a National Convention in Detroit, but with a good amount of work from several members and the entire Executive Board, we got it done. Many thanks to Jim Haggarty for talking amongst several other Local Unions to push the Convention to come to Detroit.
Expect a ballot to come in the mail to vote for the Vice President of the Central Region. Currently that position is held by June Harris, who is also the Local President of Local 306. The other candidate is Chris Bentley, who is a Local President of Local 297.
There were several days of voting for several Constitutional changes as well as areas the Union as a whole should focus on going forward.
